In the middle of October 2019, in Ho Chi Minh City, Hoa Binh Energy Consulting Co., Ltd. (Vietnam) and UPER ENERGY (Hong Kong) – the world-leading company in providing maintenance services for renewable power plants, have had a MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) signing ceremony on cooperation in the operation and maintenance of renewable power plants (solar power, wind power, gas-fired power …) in the territory of Vietnam.
PEC and UPER are two companies with many years of experience in the field of design consultancy, project management, and especially plant maintenance and operation. PEC’s team of PhDs, Masters, and lecturers from leading universities can provide technical analysis, maintenance schedules following the plant’s situation. The maintenance team consists of experienced experts and personnel, ensuring 24/24 for maintenance and repair.
UPER is the management unit for more than 350 power plants in more than 150 cities worldwide, providing O&M services for more than 2GW of power plants, building and providing software ecosystem for monitoring and maintenance of solar and wind power plants.
This cooperation aims to maximize the strengths of both sides. It is the combined strength of an experienced domestic unit, with a team of highly qualified local professionals and a world-leading corporation with rich experience in multiple fields and a supervisory control management system meeting technology standards 4.0. Through the joint venture, PEC – UPER will bring the development of O&M for renewable energy plants to ensure efficient generated capacity, minimize risks, malfunctions for machinery systems, and keep safety for operating processes of factories.
Up to now, Vietnam has about 82 solar power projects with a total capacity of 4,460 MW connected to the national power grid, and solar power accounts for about 8.28% of the country’s total electricity production. There are also about 13 projects being completed with a total capacity of 630 MW, expected to be put into operation by the end of 2019.
This is a considerable number and will continue to increase soon. Human resources trained during the implementation of the project will be an important foundation for O&M acquisition, mastery, and development in the coming period. The cooperation of PEC and UPER will ensure the quality and safety of mechanical systems of power plants, creating the trust of owners.
